Receptionist

Term Time Only

Mon-Thur 8am - 4pm
Fri – 8am – 3:30pm

Grade 4 Salary: £21,349 - £22,755 (depending on experience)

To start: as soon as possible

The Bulmershe School is looking to recruit a warm, professional and highly organised Receptionist to join our friendly and hardworking administration team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with excellent communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude to play a key role at the heart of our busy secondary school in Woodley, just outside Reading and Wokingham.

Whether you already have experience in a school admin role or are looking for a new challenge in a fast-paced and rewarding environment, this role offers a chance to make a real difference to the day-to-day running of school life. The Receptionist is often the first person visitors, parents and students meet, so this is a role where your professionalism, warmth and attention to detail will really shine.

About the Role
As our Receptionist, you’ll be the face of The Bulmershe School - welcoming visitors, answering calls and supporting our school community with a range of important administrative tasks. You’ll work closely with colleagues across the admin team to provide high-quality support to staff, students and parents. This includes maintaining accurate student records, helping to organise trips and events, handling correspondence and contributing to the smooth running of the school office.

You will also play a vital role in areas such as:

  • Managing student admissions and leavers
  • Booking staff courses and arranging supply cover
  • Supporting events such as open evenings and parent meetings
  • Liaising with families, external agencies and school departments

No two days are the same, and this is a role that would suit someone who is organised, calm under pressure and enjoys being part of a team.
